Merchant Dashboard is a product that allows retailers to process orders. It is designed to help retailers quickly process online orders in the most efficient way possible.

The main issue to solve was that it took retailers a long time to process each order. A solution was conceived that would allow retailers to process orders in bulk, or multiple orders at once, which would save time.

Specific goals included allowing the user to see more orders above the page-break line on the display and designing an adaptable mobile version.

Design Process

  1. 1. Identify & Research needs of user and value created.
  2. 2. Whiteboard flowchart of user journeys.
  3. 3. Sketch UI for specific use cases.
  4. 4. Wireframes for workflows and content place holders.
  5. 5. Mockup concept for final UI look & feel.
  6. 6. Prototype for a typical "happy-path" use case.
  7. 7. Test prototype with a select control group.
  8. 8. Implement development.
  9. 9. Launch product.
  10. 10. Maintain & support after launch.
  11. 11. Collect feedback from users for future enhancements.

WHITEBOARDING

Develop an overall strategy for the product and take into account typical user journeys in the order fulfillment process.

SKETCHES

Come up with rudimentary designs for the interface and common use cases that address previous friction and pain points communicated by retailers.

Implementing UX/UI Designs into a Production Environment

DEVELOPMENT

In collaboration with the Product Manager, created acceptance criteria and description for stories to be created in Jira (agile project management application). Work with front-end developers to implement stories through grooming sessions and ad-hoc meetings.

USER ACCEPTANCE TESTING

When stories are completed, conduct UAT (User Acceptance Testing) with the Product Manager in order to approve visuals and functionality.

PRODUCTION

Once product is launched, additional enhancements are made to streamline usability.

END-USER TESTING/FEEDBACK

After launch, end-user feedback is collected through analytics applications that measure clicks, heat maps, time spent on tasks and other KPI's (Key Performance Indicators). This information is analyzed for future product releases.
